While traveling by pirogue to the villages of the last women with face tattoos in the Chin State, I noticed a group of people working by the river... I asked to stop for a moment there. It was a seasonal job involving the heavy lifting of stones from the river onto a boat to be used later in construction... among the people, there was only one woman, smoking a pipe and shy... I approached and asked to take a photo... she was really shy, and the first photo didn't turn out well... suddenly, she looked to the side, trying to "escape" from the lens that bothered her due to her shyness... I clicked, and I knew it would be a beautiful photo! I love this photo because it reminds me of my mother, who is a strong woman, and my father, who smoked a pipe when I was a child.
